ICIS Board of Directors & Advisors

(extended versions)

CAROL ROSIN, President - President/Chair of the Board Dr. Carol Rosin, an award winning educator, author, a leading aerospace executive, a space and missile defense consultant, founder of ISCOS in ‘83, in consultative status with UN-ECOSOC…now ICIS. According to Military Space (July '84), "Rosin is regarded to be the original political architect of the move to stop the SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) and ASATs (Anti-satellite weapons)." Rosin testifies against the weaponization of space and for a world cooperative military, civil and commercial space R&D, applications and exploration program, and for the transformation of the war industry into a space industry without space-based weapons. Rosin is on the Board of United Societies in Space, and is Space Commissioner for the World Government of World Citizens.

"Stating the dangers, costs, and fallacies of the space-based weapons system has not stopped them from being researched and developed or tested against the ever changing list of enemies, whether it is called the SDI, NMD, BMD or Star Wars. Under the guise of 'national security' and 'it's MERELY research or testing' the space-based weapons intended R&D program has become the largest R&D program in history, yet it won't protect anyone or anything, is dangerous, destabilizing, too costly and unnecessary. Cooperation in space will stimulate the economy, create new jobs and training programs, and emplace a strong national and global security system based on the world coming together to reap the unlimited benefits and opportunities they will all receive from our evolution into space together. We can build space battle stations and weapons pointed towards earth and into space, OR we can choose space habitats, hospitals, schools, farms, labs, industries, hotels and resorts, elevators, and craft that will free humans to explore our sacred space and the universe.

It is time to ban space-based weapons before any become ‘operational’ by getting world leaders to sign the Space Preservation Treaty (introduced on the floor of the Canadian Parliament) and the US Congress to pass into law the companion Space Preservation Act. What are we waiting for! More re-writes, reports, speeches? THIS Treaty incorporates the best of past, existing, and proposed relevant treaties! And, we are out of time... space-based operational weapons are imminent. With focus and intention, we can get THIS Space Preservation Treaty signed. This will put pressure on the US Congress to pass the COMPANION bill! All we have to do is quickly remove that mandate to weaponize space. Space-based weapons won’t protect space technology, people, or anything. They would escalate the war games. We MUST put a literal lid on the war industry and transform it into a grand space industry that will provide security, a stimulated economy and jobs, and benefits for all in terms of human, environmental, and energy needs. We have one slim chance and little time to do it. Get this Space Preservation Treaty signed and ratified by 20 world leaders NOW. There would never ever be peace on earth with operational weapons in space so this is a must IF we want peace. Once operational in space, which would happen under the guise of it being called “R&D,” we would never be able to stop the vastness of space from becoming a war zone. And the money and brain drain would present distractions from the numbers of forthcoming man-made or natural disasters that need tending to IF our species is to survive. We HAVE a real, ready to be signed, Space Preservation Treaty. It can be signed outside of the UN Conference…but submitted to the UN Secretary General Office, which is the Treaty Depositary. It’s simply NOW OR NEVER! Please, read the Treaty and bill on www.peaceinspace.com and get world leaders to sign and ratify...we can do this! Get a US Senator to introduce it and get co-sponsors to this and the House bill. You know what to do!"

“There are multiple false premises inherent in the rationale to build and install the U.S. National Missile Defence (“NMD”) system in Central Europe, indeed anywhere. Two hawks – Pres. Leonid Brezhnev and Pres. Richard Nixon - outlawed Missile Defense systems with the 1972 Anti Ballistic Missile Defense (ABM) Treaty because NMD systems are hair-triggers to nuclear first strikes, and all-out nuclear war. National Missile Defence is a misnomer, as NMD can actually be used in aid of a nuclear first strike by the U.S. No wonder Russia – which many experts say is the true target of the NMD systems in Central Europe – feels threatened by this system. There is no objective evidence that Iran is building weapons of mass destruction capability that would justify a U.S. NMD system – this is more Iraq War-style propaganda fraud.

“Moreover, the 1972 ABM Treaty between the U.S. and Russia, which the Bush Administration unilaterally terminated on Dec. 13, 2002 under the pretext of 9/11, had prevented the weaponization of space for 30 years. In fact the 9/11/01 “attacks” were a false flag operation of the Bush Administration. See my Memorandum to the U.S. Congress at: http://peaceinspace.blogs.com/911/2007/04/memorandum_summ.html
The Bush Administration unilaterally terminated the ABM Treaty under the pretext of the 9/11/01 false flag operation in order to (1) provide a cover for a $1 trillion weapons system boondoggle, and (2) provide the pretext for the weaponization of space, and its unlimited arms race and profits to the permanent war economy.”

DANIEL SHEEHAN, JD, General Counsel - is a graduate of Harvard Law School, former Director of the Christic Institute, and a Professor of World Politics at the University of California. Mr. Sheehan has a long and distinguished history as public interest counsel in milestone cases. He was legal counsel in the Pentagon Papers case, the Iran-Contra, Three Mile Island, and Karen Silkwood cases, as well as many other high profile cases.

"During my thirty years in the field of public interest law and public policy, I have supervised professional investigations into the illegal smuggling of weapons-grade plutonium, the illegal supply of arms to terrorist organizations by covert operations and government agents, and into ultra-"black" weapons programs unknown even to the most trusted congressional officials. I have come to believe that keeping weapons out of interplanetary space is THE most important contribution we can make to the future of this planet. The time to begin this task is now."
